We work across the full range of screen production, from independent and studio feature films and scripted television to commercials, promos and other screen content.

Making the right production decisions

As production costs continue to rise and exchange-rate pressures reshape production economics, Australia and New Zealand can offer compelling alternatives for productions that might otherwise be difficult to achieve.

Luna Films brings practical, first-hand knowledge of the production infrastructure, crews, incentives, co-production structures and market realities across Australia, New Zealand and the US. We help producers, studios, financiers and creative partners assess where and how a project can be made most effectively — whether that means bringing a US production to Australia, using Australia or New Zealand as a doubling location, structuring a formal co-production, or developing an international production strategy from the outset.

The objective is simple: find the right production solution for the project — creatively, financially and practically.

Producing across territories

Alongside our line-production and production-management work, Luna Films is developing and producing projects with Australian and US-based partners, working from development and financing through to production.

We have a number of projects progressing through this model, with the ultimate production territory determined by the creative, financial and strategic requirements of each project.

A current example is Do Not Wake, a feature film we will produce in 2027, which was selected for the prestigious TIFF Finance Market. Of the hundreds of projects considered internationally, just 40 feature films were selected, including only three projects from Australia.

The project is now being taken into the international financing and co-production marketplace as we pursue strategic partners, financing and production opportunities across Australia, the US and other territories.
